You'll most likely begin your journey to Seward in Anchorage, regardless of where you come from. From Anchorage, you will drive 130 miles down the picturesque Seward Highway, recognized as a scenic by-way, originally completed in 1951. On the left side of the highway is the scenic 6,908,540 acre Chugach National Forest. Further down the road, you'll travel along the dramatic coast of Turnagain Arm. Arriving on the Kenai Peninsula, your drive will take you through the Kenai Mountains, which average 3,000 to 5,000 feet in elevation, and along the aquamarine waters of Kenai Lake. You'll end your trip at the Seward Military Resort, and we will be ready to help you make the most of your adventures. Let us know how we can help.
Before you head down the highway, please check the State of Alaska website for road construction activities along the Seward Highway. No matter what time of year you're traveling to Seward, check out road conditions at 511.alaska.gov.
